STEM Sparkers, I can't believe the holidays are right around the corner (here in the US)! We have all these grand plans again to review products and give them away from now until the New Year here at STEM Spark, so... let's get to it! No time to waste! Unless your Santa Claus or Hermione Granger or Doctor Who or etc and can manipulate time. Anyway, first up is the Lego BrickHeadz Thanksgiving Turkey.
Will your kids like it and/or will you hate it?
I showed Jack the box and asked him what he thought. He responded with much enthusiasm "I really like it!" We a Lego kind of family, so it's not really a surprise that this holiday themed Lego set is on our nice list.
How long will it keep them entertained?
Jack and his friend both got their own Lego Turkey, and it took them each about a half hour to build these turkeys. It will make for a nice, quite activity among the holiday dinner chaos. Note: Jack's friend was also very excited to build the turkey. 2 out of 2 testers recommend this toy.
Are they a good value?
As far as Lego sets go, this one is on the more affordable end. The Lego website has the Lego BrickHeadz Thanksgiving Turkey listed at $9.99.
Ninja-like STEM Skills
STEM Spark has talked about this before, but Lego sets have all kinds of STEM skills: spacial reasoning, building skills, and pattern recognition. Also each set includes assembly instructions, which down the road, knowing how to make a good set of assembly instructions is key in some STEM industries (software, manufacturing, etc).
Alright, time to give this toy/product a score (using the Amazon 5 star system)...turkey drumstick roll please (groan)...4 out of 5 stars! I think this is the first time I've scored a Lego set less than a 5, but 4 stars is still good Lego, please don't pull your sponsorship (oh wait, they don't sponsor us, I buy all the Lego sets, but a STEM Sparker can dream, right?)! So my reason for 4 stars is that while the Lego BrickHeadz Thanksgiving Turkey set is fun (and I dare say cute) and has good Ninja-like STEM skills, it only took my testers a half hour to build. I needed a little more time to nap. I mean, more time to prep food for the holiday dinner, yeah that's it.
Anyway, it's raffle time! Use the Rafflecopter enter options below (or click the Rafflecopter link here), and please only STEM Sparkers with a US shipping address! Good luck!
Make sure to check back next week, and the week after that, and probably the week after that for more STEM Holiday Giveaways! Happy holidays and happy STEM-ing!
Legos are the best!

Thanks for the review! I'm on the lookout for new Legos for my 5 year old as we get closer to the holidays- last year he was very clear which one he wanted, but this year- not so much!
We have many jigsaw puzzles as well as Harry Potter lego sets on our list here, as well as nonfiction National Geographic books--there are a ton of new fun ones out now.
